First draft of teaser trailer

This is our first draft of our trailer on Pinnacle. We took out the knife scene as it didnt fit anywhere in the clip and wouldnt make sense as you can see. We had no transitions at this point however where the cuts are we will have a fade to black transition. At the beggining we will add the productions comapany and at the end our film title and the date of the film. We are thinking about adding some text into our teaser trailer in order to make it look more scary to emphasise our thriller genre. However i am pleased with our first editing of our teaser trailer.

Stages of Teaser Poster

This is our final teaser poster, i feel it has no narrative but will have audiences making their assumptions of the film. i feel it look interesting and people will want to know why the girl is so signifiant.

This is our first draft of the poster. We had the film title in white to stand out against the black background and also on the side as i felt this looked good. However we decided to have it centre as we wanted the film title to stand out more in order to catch passers by's attention. We had the title in white and coming soon in red, however we swapped these as we wanted the film title to be more scary as red indicates blood and danger. Coming soon is now in white to stand out at the bottom.

Film poster stages

Everything is the same, however as we made our magazine a more christmas theme we changed the date of the film from July to December to make the dates more realistic and to keep the continuity of the dates.

We uploader the image and made the title 'La Femme' in red as we feel this looks better and stands out more.

This was our first draft of our poster. We wanted to fit the conventions of a film poster and make it look realsitic. We had La Femme in white as it stands out on the black background, making passers by take in the film name. July 7th is in red to indicate danger on that day. Underneaththe date we had a website and the producers, actors etc to fit the conventions of a typical film poster. We have yet to add an image.

La Femme Film Poster

This is our poster for La Femme. We took a picture outside Katies house at around 7pm in order to make the house look more scary as it is dark. this is the same house on the film to make it more realistic and believable. The La Femme again is in red to indicate danger and also the date of the film, this makes it more sary as it indicates that it is the date you will be scared. Overall i feel this film poster is effective and fits all conventions of a film poster.

La Femme Teaser Poster

This is our teaser poster for our film. We didnt want to give much information as it is a teaser explaining the 'coming soon'. The image i feel is effective as the main focus on the cover is Grace. The candle makes the film poster look more scary reflecting its genre. We chose to have our film name in red because the colour indicates blood and danger. The coming soon is white to make this stand out against the black to inform the audience that he film will be out soon.
I feel our teaser poster is effective and will catch passers by, making them want to see the film.

Evaluating our teasr trailer

Overall i feel our teaser trailer works really well. It was very time consuming and hard to get the clips looking as we wanted as Pinnacle is so difficult to use. When something wasnt working out how we wanted e.g. the 'La Femme' and 'Coming Soon' to come up at different times we had to find alternatives on how to get it looking right, so we put the text on two different clips. This was very fiddly and hard to get the La Femme text looking the same on each slide.
I do like the home video effect as we didnt have to take much care making the camera as still as possible in clips as we were portraying teenage girls filming. I also like the fact that the speech in the film was not planned making it more realistic and not like we was reading off a script.
Overall i am very pleased it he way our teaser trailer looks and I feel it portrays a real teaser trailer as we fitted in all the conventions we could.

Editing our film - part 3

We decided we didnt want to use the knife clip as it did not work in our trailer, but we still wanted our film to portray the trailer genre. We used a recording device to record Katie breathing heavily and ending in a scream, this was going to go go at the end of our trailer on a black screen. This shows that we are not prepared to show what is going to happen but you can hear what is, making the audience make up own ideas about the narrative of our film. Before this we see Katie saying how much she likes the house and that she could get used to living in the new house. A black screen then comes up and white text saying 'wrong'. This gives a bit of narrative to the audience as the house isn't as good as what the girls think. The text comes up with a shotgun noise in the background, this bang sound makes the text seem more effective and follows conventions of other teaser trailers.
We then use the same shotgun sound for when our film title 'La Femme' comes up at the end and when coming soon is shown. This is effective as we want the audience to take not of the film title and also that the film is coming soon.
When editing the end, we had problems trying to get La Femme and Coming Soon up on the same clip, we decided to do it seperately in order to get the pop up effect we wanted. This finally worked and we got the text the same in order to make it seem like it was the same clip.
